The Podere Santa Croce
is a former farmhouse located on a hill with a gorgeous view and only six kilometers away from Siena Near by you will find the village of San Rocco a Pilli, where you can do your daily shopping. In San Rocco a Pilli there is a restaurant, a pizzeria, cafés, a supermarket etc.

Spread out over the countryside you will see farms and old villas, a hilly landscape with wine yards, olive farms and fertile fields of corn, wheat, and the characteristic sunflowers. Specific for this diversified landscape are the numerous cypress trees growing along the roads, around the single farms and as groves between hills. The forests still host wild life like deer, boar and pheasants.

The distance to the little river, the Merse (bathing possible) is only about six kilometers.

The apartments
There are three apartments for rent. We tried to keep the original character of the building. The floors are kept in the traditional handmade Terracotta tiles, as are the typical wooden beams of the ceilings. The apartment 'Ramona' has an open fireplace. The kitchens are laid in brick and wainscoted with marble, Travertine or in pretty ceramic. Corresponding to the origins of the house we furnished the apartments in the rustic style of the Toscana.

Each apartment has its own terrace with garden furniture. The property has a big garden with a pavilion and numerous Pine and Cypress trees.

The non-plus ultra is the swimming pool, what invites for relaxation under the shady trees. From here you have a beautiful view of the village, San Rocco a Pilli, and the surrounding hills.

The region of Siena
From the property you can see the silhouette of Siena, the heart of this fabulous provincial region. Seen from the art-historical side, Siena is the most interesting part of the Toscana, mainly an agriculture province, and offers you the beauty of historical cities like San Gimignano, Pienza and Montalcino. We would also like to mention the cloisters like Sant´Antimo, Monte Oliveto Maggiore and the ruins of San Galgano.

North of the medieval Siena, with its small roads and brick palaces, the vineyards dominate the landscape - the district of the Chianti Classico. In the south you find the Crete with their characteristic loam hills, washed naked by centuries of rain. It takes about an hour drive to the seaside of Toscana with its wide beaches, f.e. Castiglione della Pescaia.

Arrival
When traveling by car, eave the Auto Strada in Florenz at the exit Impruneta.

The Superstrada to Siena begins here (free of charge - 4 lanes). In Siena you drive on in the direction to Grosseto.

After six kilometers you reach the exit Fogliano/ Mugnano. gliano/Mugnano. From here you go direction Fogliano (ca. 500 m - 1. entry left).
